Hey there! If you’re reading this, you might be dealing with some serious tooth pain. First off – we get it. Tooth pain is miserable, and just hearing “root canal” might make you nervous. But here’s the good news: modern root canal treatment at Medora Dental is nothing like those old horror stories.
Dr. Ash and our Abbotsford endodontic team have helped countless Fraser Valley residents just like you save their natural teeth with gentle, effective care. Most patients tell us afterward, “Wow, that was so much easier than I expected!”
We create a tiny opening in your tooth and remove the infected pulp tissue.
We clean everything out thoroughly, shape the canals, and disinfect the space.
We fill and seal the space with a special material called gutta-percha to prevent future infection.
We protect your tooth with a filling or crown so you can get back to normal life.
Root canal treatment typically takes 1–3 visits, with appointments lasting about 90 minutes, and has a 90% success rate. As Abbotsford patient Michele says, “Dr. Ash makes me feel comfortable and explains every step, which really eased my dental anxiety.”
With a success rate of approximately 75%, our Abbotsford endodontic specialists can often save your tooth even when initial treatment has failed.
Sarah, a teacher from Abbotsford, had her root canal on a Friday and was back teaching on Monday. “I kept waiting for the terrible pain everyone talks about, but it never came,” she told us.

Posted on Tanya HTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My family and I have been going to Medora since 2020. Dr Ash and staff are all amazing. Most recently, they fit me in the next morning after I chipped my tooth. I was in and out in 20 minutes. My 5 year old looks forward to his checkups because the staff is so great. Highly recommend.Posted on velvet federauTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. So incredibly great with our toddler's.Posted on S LeblancTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I have been going to Medora for a few years now. I suffer from significant anxiety when going to the dentist and they have always taken care to make sure I am ok. I would say that since I have to go to the dentist this dentist manages to make the best of what will always be a crappy experience for me and i actually find my anxiety getting better. The only minor thing is I think communication could be a touch better when changes in hygienist or dentist occur as it tends to throw me off as to what i mentally prepare for but still 5 stars as far as a dentist goes.Posted on Penny StonehewerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Very calming and friendly atmosphere. The staff was very thorough with my options. Would highly recommend!
Not during the procedure! We make sure you’re properly numbed. After treatment, most patients experience mild discomfort similar to having a filling done.
Most people return to normal activities the very next day. You might want to take it easy for the rest of the day after your appointment, but that’s usually it.
We recommend soft foods until numbness wears off, and avoiding chewing on the treated tooth until your permanent restoration is placed.
